Types of monologue:
- Outside the scene (direct to audience by a narrator or characters not in the scene)
- Inside the scene (where characters in the scene take focus and speak for longer than normal (usually uninterrupted))
- Solo Scene where the whole scene is a monologue.
There seems to be 2 'Inside the scene' styles of narration.
ReplyDeleteA character can give a speech to other people in the scene, this happens a lot in court room dramas.
The other is the Aside, or breaking out of the normal action and giving a monologue of the characters thoughts.
